about
i've been wanting to write this song for a while.
Special thanks to James Long, Kiore H, Chell, and Andrew.
And thanks to all my patrons for keeping me going.
lyrics
I've been cleaning out the closets,
'cause it's around that time of year.
Can't be skimping on deposits,
so i've been doing what i can around here.
If you could take me back a decade,
maybe i could have worked this out,
but i can't promise
i wouldn't have made the mess that I'm in now.
Spring cleaning.
How many things are left in here that i've been hiding?
Spring cleaning.
And if it's all wiring,
then who is it that i've been hiding it from?
Skeletons all out for show,
i found 'em not too long ago.
I'd tell you if you know a bone to pick
that won't afflict me none.
But does it matter,
seeing patterns
in the scatter of the carpet clutter.
boxes of maybes, fairly lately, all built up.
So i'm cleaning out the closets.
'cause it's around that time of year.
Can't be skimping on deposits,
so i've been doing what i can around here.
If you could take me back a decade,
maybe i could have worked this out,
but i can't promise
i wouldn't have made the mess that I'm in now.
Spring cleaning.
How many things are left in here that i've been hiding?
Spring cleaning.
And if it's all wiring,
then who is it that i've been hiding it from?
All of this i never touch,
i haven't thrown it out. Lazy.
I hold on to way too much.
I'm sentimental to the point it's crazy.
And sometimes i fear
i'm only moving all the mess around.
but scattered out, it's clear.
now let's sort this out.
i've been cleaning out the closets.
'cause it's around that time of year.
Can't be skimping on deposits,
so i've been doing what i can around here.
If you could take me back a decade,
maybe i could have worked this out,
but right now i can't promise much.
That's why i've been cleaning out the closets.
'cause it's around that time of year.
Can't be skimping on deposits,
so i've been doing what i can around here.
If you could take me back a decade,
maybe i could have worked this out,
but i can't promise
i wouldn't have made the mess that I'm in now.
Spring cleaning.
That me you think of doesn't think like me.
That's my fault.
Spring cleaning.
My talking's messy and it's hard to read.
That's my fault.

A lovely album that, like “Songs for Sad Trolls”, keenly reflects the emotions and experiences of various Homestuck characters.
“Fool” is equal parts gloomy, angry, romantic, and sorrowful. I’ve cried while listening to its heartbreaking lyrics and emotional sound. --N--

I'm re-reading homestuck again, like a sane person, and just went on a spiral wailing to myself (lovingly) about all the beautiful art that came out of this fandom in its prime, some of which is just as integral to my love of this ridiculous webcomic as the thing itself. Haven't bit the bullet to buy the OSTs on bandcamp yet but this album deserves it. I'm very normal about things I loved when I was 14 and continue to love, I promise big suit david byrne

Nearly a decade late to the Taz party, but I’m so glad to be aware of it now! I don’t know what elixir Griffin put into the album but I would like to drink a gallon of it. katiegreene137
